Your Disability is not your Inability

Hi, I’m Fatu F. Tamba, a determined and resilient individual who has faced physical challenges for years while pursuing my education.
I was born June 7, 2000 with a disability. I am a student at the Cuttington University, where I’m studying accounting. I have faced physical challenges throughout my life, yet my determination to pursue education and achieve my career goals remains unshakable.
I chose accounting because I believes it will equip me with the essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in finance. I was motivated by the empowering statement, “your disability is not your inability.” I constantly reminding myself that my disabilities do not define my abilities or hinder my potential.
This context highlights my unwavering spirit—I have never allowed these setbacks to discourage me from chasing my dreams and continue my education.
Instead of being overwhelmed by these circumstances, I have harnessed my resilience and determination to navigate through life’s obstacles. My journey serves as a powerful reminder that disabilities should not restrict anyone from achieving their aspirations. I continue to demonstrate that with perseverance and strength, individuals can rise above challenges and reach their goals, regardless of their circumstances.
By the grace of God, I was finally able to secure a scholarship through the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, which provides me with the necessary support to attend Cuttington University in Bong County Suakoko.
This scholarship not only covers my full tuition but also assists with paying my rent off campus and providing a feeding allowance, allowing me to focus solely on my studies and future prospects.
Through perseverance and the unwavering support of the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, my journey towards achieving my education has been transformed. I have overcome immense challenges and barriers, with the scholarship providing me the opportunity to thrive academically and pursue my passions.
With the help of the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, I’m now on the path towards a brighter future filled with endless possibilities.
I’m truly grateful to the GPFA family for their support.
